A common theme when reading statements from Pentagon spokespersons is to be wary of what they say. Their contradictions and spin have been a consistent issue for years. Recently, allegations of alleged unethical behavior (or worse) have sprung up. With that said, we must always take what these spokespersons say with a grain of salt.
Researcher Roger Glassel has been in contact with Pentagon spokesperson Susan Gough, and others, a number of times. Today he published more statements he received in question and answer format.
What stuck out to me, interestingly enough, is this statement which seems to confirm the current UAP/UFO program we have been hearing so much about from Luis Elizondo and others.
Susan Gough: “Under the cognizance of the Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence (USD(I)), there is an interagency team charged with gathering data and conducting investigations into range incursions.”
Later on, during the questions and answers with Roger, Susan Gough went on to say:
“The investigation of UAP sightings by the multi-agency task force is ongoing.”
Like other recent reports, this seems to confirm and vindicate statements from Luis Elizondo. During season one of Unidentified, it was stated:
Narrator: “Over the past year (Lue) has been communicating behind the scenes with a new team of Pentagon intelligence officers who are studying UFOs.”
Lue Elizondo: “Aatip is no longer run by a single office. There’s now several offices that are engaged in this effort. We meet with people regularly involved with this effort.”
“There are extremely qualified people, whom I trust, whom I personally know, that are still running this effort. And it is being run with official blessing.”
I spoke with Luis Elizondo and he told me this:
“Per my previous interactions with the public it should be no surprise to anyone that the program is still running and out of OUSDI, the organization that I left. Furthermore, as I also previously stated this effort is a joint endeavor between OSD and elements of the intelligence community. I’m glad the department of defense continues to take this issue seriously for the sake of our brave men and women in uniform.”
Since the original NY Times story, whether AATIP was ongoing had been reported both ways. It was widely stated that AATIP ended and mainstream media parroted that message to the world, despite Elizondo claiming in the same original Times piece that it did not end. Elizondo also made statements since, directly informing the world the program was ongoing.
Historically speaking alone, this is a huge story, but its effect on the public psyche could also be impactful. It has always been my feeling that since the public thought AATIP only lasted for a short few years and it was no longer ongoing, that in a way, emotionally they were able to compartmentalize it, helping them brush the topic off. Psychologically there could be a much larger impact when the public believes, and now knows and has confirmation, that there is in fact an ongoing United States UFO/UAP program.
